What is WordCamp Austin?
WordCamp Austin is one of many conferences held around the world that is put on by the local WordPress community in in their respective cities. We invite those that share our interest in building websites on WordPress to join us for a one-day conference. If you’d like to apply to be one of our speakers, please apply here.
Why should I tune in?
We’ve all had opportunities to tune in to online events. The organizing team is working hard to create a full day of experiences that you wont want to miss! Austin boldly claims that we are the Live Music Capital of the World. As such, we want to bring a musical element to our day of WordPress by having performers from the WordPress community delight us with their musical talents between sessions. If you’re the first in line on karaoke night, or have brought your guitar along on a camping trip to serenade fellow revelers, or have been looking for the opportunity to share your dulcimer skills, now is your chance! We know that the the WordPress community is rich in talent reaching beyond websites and we want to showcase a portion of those talents. Apply to perform here.
Online community coming together
We’re experimenting with unique and exciting ways to bring the community together. We’ve found a way to recreate meaningful group conversations in an online medium via a digital social space(Mozilla Hubs). We’re planning on hosting our ‘after-party’ in this digital realm and are hoping to find other ways to utilize this throughout the day. Stay tuned for details!
We’re still finalizing our sponsor offerings but if you’d like to be more involved, keep a sharp eye out for that — it should be on the website soon. We’ll have 2 levels; “Sponsor” and “Booster.” Sponsors are those that want to engage with our attendees and have high brand recognition in the community. Boosters are those that want to be involved, but at a lower scale.
