Located just blocks from downtown, Fair Market is a unique community space housed in an iconic quonset hut-style building and surrounded by the vibrant character of East Austin. With versatile indoor and outdoor spaces, Fair Market is a one-of-a-kind eastside neighborhood event space in Austin, Texas. Located in the heart of the eastside Austin there are numerous options to get to Fair Market and parking for our two day event.
There are three major options available to you for our event weekend.
There are multiple ride sharing companies around the Austin area. If you are not familiar the three most popular services are Ride Austin, Uber and Lyft. Each of these services offer Android and iPhone Apps and have rates based on distance and time of day.
Austin Public Transportation has a number of options that have stations near Fair Market on East 5th street. For details on your route use the Capital Metro Trip Planner enter your starting address and the address of Fair Market – 1100 E 5th St, Austin, TX 78702.
The closest station on the Metro Rail (if you live near a station) is the Plaza Saltillo station located at 5th and Comal and is an easy 5 minute walk down 5th to Fair Market. This PDF contains a full schedule of the MetroRail 550 Red Line. The Capital Metro website also has additional information.
The MetroRail ticket costs $3.50 for a single ride and $7 for a full day of rides.
Capital Metro also has several lines of bus routes. Use the Tripp Planner for your best route. The route 4 bus line has two stops very close to Fair Market on 6th/Medina – Stop ID 856 and 7th / Waller – Stop ID 930.
There are a number of options near the venue for parking. There is city street parking on the blocks surrounding the venue. Street parking should cost about $6 on Saturday (paying for 11am – 5pm) and free on Sunday. There are several websites that offer a reservation system for parking lots in the area surrounding Fair Market. These include bestparking.com, parkopedia, and Spot Hero.
The ParkX Phone App allows you to pay for your street parking and refill the meter on the go avoiding the hassle to have spare change or go back to the meter to feed it throughout the day.
