WordCamp Austin 2013 Set to Smash Attendance Records and Attracts Celebrities<\/b><\/p>\n

AUSTIN, Texas \u2013 May 13, 2013\u00a0 WordCamp Austin 2013<\/a>, <\/b>a prestigious conference that covers the latest developments in the open source software, WordPress, is set to break conference attendance records and attract over 450 users, bloggers, and developers, this weekend.\u00a0 This year\u2019s conference topics are geared to all levels of WordPress users, from beginners experienced designers and developers. \u00a0WordPress now powers one in seven web sites, and 58% of all content management systems.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the Four Points Chamber of Commerce<\/a>, this year\u2019s ticket-only event will be held at the magnificent Austin Baptist Church Campus<\/a>, on Saturday May 18, 2013. The developers-only conference will be held the following day, Sunday, May 19th<\/sup> at CapitalFactory<\/a>, in downtown Austin.<\/p>\n

The 2013 keynote speaker is Cory Miller<\/a> of iThemes<\/a> and co-author of WordPress All-in-One for Dummies<\/i>.\u00a0 Featured speakers are Chris Lema<\/a>, Chris Schmitt<\/a> and Cody Landefeld<\/a>.\u00a0 Returning speakers are Jared Atchison<\/a>, Nick Batik<\/a>, Chris Wiegman<\/a>, Brandon Kraft<\/a>, Corrin Foster<\/a>, Ilene Haddad<\/a>, Amanda Quraishi<\/a>, Eric Weiss<\/a>, Crystal R. R. Edwards<\/a>, Bill Erickson<\/a>, Chris Olbekson<\/a> and Stephanie Leary<\/a>.\u00a0 New speakers for 2013 are Jesse Peterson<\/a>, Pat Ramsey<\/a>, Hannah Hill, Robert Neu<\/a>, Dorian Speed<\/a>, Carrie Dils<\/a>, Ansa Copeland<\/a>, Joel Goodman<\/a>, Taylor Christensen<\/a>, Austin Gunter<\/a>, and David Vogelpohl<\/a>.\u00a0 Developer-day speakers are Paul Ruescher<\/a>, Eddie Machado, Jason Weaver<\/a>, Mark Kelnar<\/a> and Chris Olbekson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

WordCamp is organized by the all-volunteer Austin WordPress MeetUp<\/a> group, the seventh largest WordPress MeetUp group in the world, with over 1500 members, including designers, developers and businesses.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe often have to turn away people from our monthly meet-ups,\u201d said Nick Batik<\/a>, one of WordCamp Austin 2013\u2019s co-organizers and a founder of the Austin WordPress MeetUp group. \u201cThe fact that WordCamp Austin 2013 will be sold out long before Saturday shows the popularity of WordPress.\u201d added Batik.<\/p>\n
