Announcing 2012 Wordcamp Austin May 19th Conference Sponsorship Changes Beginning 5 pm, Friday, April 20th, 2012<\/h2>\n

Blow-out WordCamp ticket sales, have necessitated changes to our WordCamp Austin 2012 Sponsorship options.\u00a0 At 5 pm Friday April 20th<\/sup>, the previously posted Sponsorship opportunities and published perks are formally closed.<\/p>\n

However, NEW, incoming Sponsors are FULLY welcomed with the following changes:<\/p>\n

1. You understand that at this late date you may miss our tight print deadline for being included in WordCamp signage.<\/p>\n

2. You will receive 1 organizational ticket vs. 2,3,4.\u00a0 (As of Friday April 20th<\/sup>\u00a0 accommodating public ticket sales take precedence.)<\/p>\n

3. You will still have full Sponsorship visibility online,\u00ad BUT there may be a slight delay slight delay in posting.<\/p>\n

4. We will do what we can to accommodate your educational, non-commercial interest in volunteering in the Happiness Bar (aka WordPress Tech-Support) or within one of our informal Luncheon Conversations with those attendees who have expressed an interest in your educational topic; however we cannot guarantee anything in advance. These luncheon conversations sessions are driven by attendee interest \u2014 no interest \u2014 no luncheon conversation session.<\/p>\n

5. Our WordCamp Austin 2012 session schedule is set, and any openings in that schedule, due to speaker cancelations, etc. will be filled by sessions that are currently wait-listed.<\/p>\n

6. As a Sponsor, you will also be invited to, our Speaker\u2019s Reception on the evening of Friday May 18th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

8. Any other Sponsor benefit NOT impacted by a deadline date or that does not over tax the venue\u2019s capacity still will be available to you.             With that in mind, we\u2019re excited to announce that Rackspace has added several new and long-awaited features to Cloud Sites, enhancements that make it easier to leverage PHP and .NET; manage DNS; and improve provisioning.<\/p>\n

            New Technologies: PHP 5.3 & .NET 4.0<\/h3>\n

            First, Cloud Sites now supports PHP 5.3 with an updated and modern set of extensions.\u00a0 This upgrade to PHP lets users take advantage of new features in the framework such as namespaces, lambda functions and closures, along with numerous performance improvements over PHP 5.2.<\/p>\n

            Cloud Sites users are able to create new sites leveraging PHP 5.3 or migrate existing sites to PHP 5.3 from the control panel.<\/p>\n

            Additionally, .NET 4.0 is now available as a technology selection within the control panel.\u00a0 This new feature allows users to easily upgrade to the latest version of the .NET framework in an automated fashion.<\/p>\n

            DNS Management Updates<\/h3>\n

            The DNS manager of Cloud Sites is now capable of managing TXT, SRV and AAAA records.\u00a0 The addition of these record types gives users full control over their DNS configuration without needing to contact support to fulfill the request.<\/p>\n

            Other Improvements<\/h3>\n

            Additionally, we\u2019ve listened to customer feedback and have made several other changes to improve the overall user experience of Cloud Sites.<\/p>\n

            We\u2019ve added MySQL server selection, which automatically populates your MySQL server when using the phpMyAdmin MySQL web administration tool.<\/p>\n

            We\u2019ve also improved provisioning. Several key fixes have been made that improve the reliability of alias provisioning operations that previously had a high failure rate.<\/p>\n

            This release signals greater momentum and a bright future for Cloud Sites, and we\u2019d like to thank all of our customers for their dedication and their feedback.<\/p>\n
